Theory of Knowledge

What is knowledge? How do people from distinct cultures and walks of life answer this question differently? Is there objective truth or is it all relative?

These questions and more are at the heart of Theory Of Knowledge (TOK). Through our TOK programmes, we will get the opportunity to live these questions and many others, to ask people from diverse backgrounds and to experience them in a range of contexts.

Students will explore how we know what we know and the nature of knowledge through a series of experiential learning activities, guided discussion and interactions with local people.

Students will leave the course armed with a variety of experiences, examples and ideas from which to draw on for their TOK classes, essay and exhibition. On top of this, students will gain a solid foundation in how to apply critical thinking skills in varied situations, an important life skill for all future endeavours.

If they are enrolled in the International Baccalaureate this program helps them move towards exploring the TOK essay and exhibition.
