If we want to do good in the world, first we must be willing to learn. So much of what is termed “service” may not be of help, or worse, may end up harming the very people we are aiming to serve. This programme takes a critical look at the failures of service, from individual volunteer projects to international aid, and offers a powerful new approach that puts learning at the heart of helping - “Learning Service”.
Through a series of critical thinking activities, visits to successful NGOs and discussions with those that are most impacted by our desire to help, we will begin to see the need to separate intentions and impact.
